Turkey
vs China
Seoul -- (3-0)
China searched for their first goal of the
tournament while Turkey needed to score a few to overhaul Costa Rica.
-- GOAL -- 1-0
Hasan Sas got Turkey off to the perfect start by robbing Wu Chengying of
possession and shooting over Jiang Jin in the 6th minute.
-- GOAL -- 2-0
Hasan Sas helped to make it two goals with ten minutes when his cross was headed in by Bulent
Korkmaz at the far post.
Just before the half hour, China almost scored
their first goal of the tournament when Yang Chen hit the post.
Half-time: Turkey 2 -- China 0
Sas threatened the Chinese again early in the
second half but another double whammy didn't work out.

Then China were reduced to ten men when Shao Jiayi was sent off for a tackle from behind
on Emre Belozoglu, in the 59th minute.
Jiang Jin prevented Hakan Sukur from making it
three with twenty minutes to go.
-- GOAL -- 3-0
Hasan Sas again set up Turkey with a cross to the far post, this time for Umit
Davala to score off the post.
Three goals against China, and Brazil's demolition of Costa
Rica, enabled Turkey to progress to the Second Round.
