2002 World Cup in Korea and Japan

This is the first World Cup Finals to be held in Asia, and the first time the finals have been shared between two countries -- Korea and Japan.

Qualification -- By Assosiation

32 Countries will compete for the 2002 FIFA World Cup.

AFC:
Asian Football Confederation.
4 teams represent Asia:
China, Japan, Saudi Arabia, South Korea.
CAF:
Confédération Africaine de Football.
5 teams represent Africa in 2002:
Cameroon, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa and Tunisia.
CONCACAF:
Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football.
3 teams represent the Caribbean, North and Central America at the finals:
Costa Rica, Mexico and USA.
CONMEBOL:
Confederación Sudamericana de Fútbol.
5 teams represent South America:
Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Paraguay and Uruguay.
OFC:
Oceania Football Confederation.
Australia once again miss out on the finals.
UEFA:
Union of European Football Associations.
Europe take 15 countries to the finals:
Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Rep. of Ireland, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Turkey.
