Team USA are in their sixth World Cup Finals, but soccer in the states is still not considered major league.

American sportsmen make more money at baseball, hockey, or American Football, and perhaps this is the reason the professionalism doesn't continue past the soccer youth camps.

It would always be a major league upset for Germany or Yugoslavia if the US scored a place in the second round. In the end they only scored one goal -- in the 1-2 defeat to Iran.

The Americans made plenty of chances, but they really do need larger goals.
