The Earth cries in poverty, while man continues to fire up the
chainsaws and cut back the trees for financial growth.
Shrinking rainforests and the disastrous effects of slash and burn in
Indonesia have been brought to our attention by major networks many times in the recent
past, and there is probably some form of environmental destruction going on in your own
back yard that doesn't get any coverage at all.
You must have heard about Transylvania. What does the name conjure
up for you?
Count Dracula's domain used to be clothed in towering trees of the

scratched and bare.
Instead of replanting, farmers use the dead wood to stake out their
domains and so destroy a legend in the process.

The Count's blood must be boiling when he looks down on
his environment today.
What are we doing to our planet, and the heritage that should be left
to our great-great grand-children?
In less than a generation, Transylvania alone has been altered
dramatically.
