Angels Camp
Angels Camp, home of Mark Twain's
famous Jumping Frog, was founded in 1848 and many of the original buildings from the mid
1800s still line Main Street.

midway between Lake Tahoe and Yosemite National Park.
Jumping Frog Jubilee:
The Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee is one of the longest running events
in the State of California.
San Andreas
San Andreas was originally settled by Mexican gold miners in 1848.
Although the gold from the initial placers soon ran out, the 1853
discovery of gold in an underground river channel helped revitalise the camp and it soon
became a town.
