Cher (18), Eure-et-Loir (28), Indre (36), Indre-et-Loire (37), Loir-et-Cher (41) and Loiret (45).
The regional
prefecture of Centre is Orléans.
Neighbouring regions are Auvergne,
Bourgogne, Basse-Normandie,
Haute-Normandie, Île-de-France, Limousin,
Pays de la Loire and Poitou-Charentes.
Centre is one of the most populated regions in France but with so
many Châteaux, monuments and beautiful towns and
villages to admire, you would hardly think so.
Orléans hosts an annual festival to honour Joan of Arc; who helped to
liberate the city from the English, in 1429.
