With so many twits twittering away on Twitter, it can sometimes be
hard to find the sweet tweets, from travel tweeps, to follow.
That's where the TravelTweet service comes in - by navigating through
Twitter for travel tweets and putting the Travel Tweet Directory together.

TravelTweet
When I first looked around Twitter, I was a little overwhelmed by
all the noise.
To try and bring some order to the chaos and help you find the travel
tweeps on Twitter that interest you most, I've split the directory up into Travel
Companies and Travel Tweeters.
Meta-Travel:
If you're involved with travel, writing, photography, public relations, destination
promotion, hospitality or guided tours - we're involved with you.
Travel Companies, or brands,
are sorted according to the field they work in, to make it easier to find them.
As well as a direct link to their Twitter page (where you'll find the
company link), there's also an @Link on the image; so that you can automatically tweet
them from here (if you have a Twitter account).
This is also the section for official tourist information resources,
tourist attractions and other travel-related tweeters.
Travel Tweeters are individuals,
listed by location.
Hopefully, if you need travel advice about a certain location, they'll
answer your call for help. On Twitter you can follow who you like and tweet them even if
they're not following you, whereas on Facebook you need to be approved.
You can also tweet them direct, by clicking on their photo.
To stand a chance of being listed, the 'travel tweeters' need to
have a photo of themselves on their profile, along with name, location and bio revealed.
After all, it helps to know who's doing the tweeting; from where.
It stands to reason that travel brands will use their corporate image,
but most bloggers are not brands.
Branding
Yourself on Twitter.
Listings are not subject to a TravelTweet following in any way;
although you might get my attention quicker if you do follow me, and reply to something I
tweet.
Just having a Twitter presence is not a guarantee of a listing.

Useful Twitter Tools on The TravelNotes
Toolbar:
If you research travel online and use Twitter regularly, then the TravelNotes toolbar can
get you to your destination faster.
Disclaimer:
People write their own bio on Twitter, so what they write about themselves may be an
exageration of the truth. As always on the Internet, tread with caution; as not everyone
is who they say they are, or what they claim to be.
