Biloxi (also referred to as Casino Coast) has generated billions of dollars in casino
revenue, and since 1992, the coastal town has added over 10,000 hotel rooms to its
inventory.
Everything Biloxi does, it does big. From its days as the Seafood
Capital of the World to its presence in the military, the Mississippi city has gone all
out. Now Biloxi has turned into the poor man's Vegas.
Hattiesburg,
Mississippi
If you enjoy browsing through the history, you'll want to budget a bit for shopping in
several of the local antique shops during your stay in southern Mississippi. You'll find
some of them scattered on Main Street, in addition to the Antique Mall on West Pine
Street.
A sultry southern town with so many historic houses that you might
actually hear the rustle of taffeta as you stroll tree-lined streets, and it’s close
enough to the Gulf Coast for upscale entertainment options or bikini clad belles --
that’s Hattiesburg.
Hattiesburg is an interesting city during all seasons. If you can stand
the heat, even midsummer visits are pleasant. Despite the high temperatures the city gets
a bit of a cooling breeze. You can enjoy golf, touring the historic homes, and numerous
outdoor activities no matter when you travel to Hattiesburg.
