UEFA Champions League 2004-2005

Group A P W D L F/A Dif Pts
AS Monaco 6 4 0 2 10/4 +6 12
Liverpool 6 3 1 2 6/3 +3 10
Olympiacos 6 3 1 2 5/5 0 10
Deportivo La Coruņa 6 0 2 4 0/9 -9 2

The top two teams enter the Knockout Phase,
while the third-placed team joins the UEFA Cup; at the third round stage.

Wednesday, 15th September

Deportivo La Coruņa vs. Olympiacos (0-0)

La Coruņa were fortunate not to be at least a goal down at half-time after Rivaldo's overhead kick landed on  the roof of the net and Molina later fumbled a free-kick from the same Brazilian. Although the Spaniards had more possession in the second-half they didn't have the final touch to break the deadlock.

Liverpool vs. Monaco (2-0)
1-0 (Djibril Cisse 22)
2-0 (Milan Baros 84)

Only two English players started for Liverpool but somehow we still call them an English club. Needless to say, an Englishman wasn't on the scoreshhet but Stephan Gerrad did at least play a part in the first of Liverpool's two goals against last season's runners-up.

Tuesday, 28th September

Monaco vs. Deportivo La Coruņa (2-0)
